Enjoy an exclusive green tea experience along the Oi River, Shimada City

897.4 Tea Gift Shop, located in Shimada City, sits on the northern end of the Horai Bridge, which is registered in the Guinness World Records as the world’s longest wooden footbridge at 897.4 meters long. The bridge’s name can be read as “yakunashi,” which translates to “no worries” in English and it is believed to attract good luck and worry-free longevity. Horai Bridge offers lovely views of Mt. Fuji on clear days and, on its southern end, connects to a footpath that leads to Makinohara Tea Plantation.

897.4 Tea Gift Shop sells locally produced tea and Japanese sweets, making it the perfect place to pick up a snack before or after a visit to Horai Bridge. Try the premium deep-steamed green tea paired with Kuro Yakko, a local special bean paste cake. Enjoy your snacks on Tatami benches outside of the shop, and admire views of the Oi River and Horai Bridge.
