Shimada City is one of the leading tea-producing areas in Japan. The store is situated right next to the Oi River, and provides good access to the Kawagoe Highway and Shimada-juku (a station along the old Tokaido Route). It's a spot full of tradition and beauty. 
You can enjoy the experience of wearing kimono and drinking the delicious green tea while absorbing the traditional sights and history.
Entrance to the Shimada City Museum is also included in the price, so you may enjoy looking at artworks in your kimono.

  • 20 minutes by car from the Shin-Tomei Kanaya Interchange
  • 15 minutes by taxi from JR Shimada Station

The Surroundings

River Area

The Oi River originates 3,000 meters high in the Southern Alps of Japan and runs through Shizuoka Prefecture from north to south. The Oi River basin is home to three vast green tea production areas, including Kawane, Shimada and Kanaya.
