Tsumugiyado Fuji

Mountain Area

Green tea sauna and deep conversation - experience slow living with friends surrounded by Shizuoka's nature.

The history of tea and pottery runs deep in Sukemune, Fujieda City. Tucked away in the mountains here, this 100-year-old kominka—a renovated traditional Japanese country house—is available for private rental, one group at a time.

Relax in peaceful tatami rooms, sip tea on the wooden veranda, or cook a shared meal using local ingredients in the fully equipped kitchen.

The highlight for many guests is the private löyly, a Finnish-style sauna, tea-scented using green tea grown in Fujieda, in a handcrafted log hut built with local wood and bamboo, heated by a wood-burning stove. Here, steam rises and the fire crackles, conversations flow—or settle into comfortable silence.

In the stillness, friendships deepen. Moments that might have slipped away become lasting memories.

More than just a stay—it’s an experience of Japan’s natural calm, communal spirit, and quiet luxury.
