Ashikubo Teaworks

Mountain Area

Ashikubo Teaworks was created by a collection of around 50 tea farmers in Ashikubo, an area with over 800 years of history and is said to be the birthplace of Shizuoka tea.

At the Teaworks Cafe, located in front of the factory, you can purchase a variety of drinks made with tea leaves carefully selected by local tea farmers, drinks made with fruits, and in summer they even offer their own tea ice. They also recommend you peruse their tea leaves and tea bags in store.

For those interested in the tea-making process, they also offer a tea picking experience, tea harvesting experience, factory tour and even a night factory tour. You can also invest in your own tea planting area and become an owner!

Access

  • About 10 minutes on foot from the Yasooka Iriguchi bus stop on the Shizutetsu Bus (Miwa/Otani line).
  • 10 minutes from the Shin-Shizuoka Interchange.
