Satsukien

Bay Area

At the southern tip of the Makinohara plateau, facing Suruga Bay and Mt. Fuji lies a great tea farming community. Here you can experience tea picking in the fresh fields free of pesticides while enjoying beautiful views and feeling the ocean breeze from the Sagara coastline. Adults and children can experience a traditional tea ceremony in our tatami mat rooms while enjoying the local tea.
We also offer a variety of other experiences, such as making tempura from freshly picked tea leaves, making your own matcha using our stone mortar, brewing tea in our sunken fireplace, and experiencing our tea master's stories firsthand. Why not use your tea leaves to create letters or even a picture? We also offer a commemorative photo service.

Tea-picking clothes are available to borrow for free. Children's sizes are also available on request.
For those wanting to try our matcha experience, a tea room is available for rent (consultation required).
We also offer mochi (rice cake) making services at request.

Access

17 minutes by car from the Makinohara Interchange or 3 minutes by car from Sagara Sun Beach.
