TUNALABO Tuna specialty store
Bay AreaTasting experience Yaizu and traditional Yaizu lucky charm "Santoku" making
[TUNALABO]
Yaizu is the birthplace of canned tuna in Japan. TUNALABO is a workshop where the owner, who ran a small restaurant in Tokyo for many years, carefully makes each “Otsuna” (tuna marinated in oil) from the best ingredients available. “Otsuna" is a tuna gem born from an idea unique to Yaizu. Perfected through trial and error by combining carefully selected tuna and oil with Yaizu's deep sea water, “Otsuna” is carefully prepared one by one at this workshop.
The name “Otsuna” is derived from the Japanese word “otsunagari,” which means a bond between people. In the store, visitors can sample 13 varieties of this unique tuna. It is also popular as a souvenir or gift.
