Tea Culture introduced by Mr. and Mrs. Moriuchi

Journey into verdant tea fields and sample quality tea at Moriuchi Tea Farm, located on the outskirts of Shizuoka City. Mr. and Mrs. Moriuchi, the 9th generation owners of the farm, passionately preserve their family’s tea heritage and share these traditions with others through their farm visit experience.

With the Moriuchis as your guides, explore their tea fields and enjoy a delicious tea flight, which is akin to a wine flight. Mr. and Mrs. Moriuchi, both of whom are certified Japanese Tea Instructors, provide you with three types of tea and guide you through the special nuances of each. Please note that during peak tea season, you may be guided by another equally experienced tea instructor. The family business atmosphere and exquisite tea make Moriuchi Tea Farm a staple visit for residents and travelers alike.

About Moriuchi Farm

Moriuchi Farm works in harmony with the sloping terrain and grows 14 cultivars that best match the soil composition to create first-grade single-origin teas. Mr. Moriuchi, himself, is a master tea maker who is venerated by local tea producers. He uses his experience and techniques to produce a wide variety of teas from his different cultivars, such as sencha (green leaf tea), pan-roasted tea, semi-fermented tea, and black tea.
