The Suruga region of Shizuoka Prefecture is well known for its tea production and history. For local travel in the Suruga region, rental cars are by far the easiest option. There are many rental options near Shizuoka and Shin-Shizuoka stations.

Rent a hybrid bicycle from Shizuoka Stations’ South Exit to fully enjoy everything the city and the surrounding area have to offer. 

There are also 4-hour guided bike tours for travelers interested in gaining a more local understanding of Suruga.

There are even guided taxi tours with English-speaking staff. Visit the highlights of Suruga like Miho Pine tree Grove, Nihondaira Plateau, and Kunozan Toshogu Shrine. During good weather, you’ll even have a glamorous view of Mount Fuji.
